Civil Practice & Procedure

The Civil Practice & Procedure Committee is responsible for reviewing the procedures and the practice in civil proceedings conducted in the Resident Magistrate’s Courts, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.

As part of its mandate, the Committee considers issues raised by practitioners, the development of relevant case law on the different Rules of Court and the practice in other jurisdictions utilizing similar procedural rules. The Committee also makes recommendations for amendments to the Rules of the Courts with a view to their improvement for practitioners and litigants.

The Committee meets on the third Thursday of every month except during the Long Vacation and does not meet formally in December.
