The Conveyancing Committee’s mandate is to monitor and review matters affecting the practice of conveyancing at the local bar. This usually involves the following:
- Reviewing and commenting on proposed legislation relating to or in any way
impacting on conveyancing practice - Reviewing and monitoring developments in case law which affect the practice ofconveyancing
- Liaising and consulting with Government Agencies and Departments whose
operations / policies / practices impact on the practice of conveyancing - Maintaining ongoing dialogue with the National Housing Trust, The Real EstateBoard and the Registrar of Titles
Currently, the Conveyancing Committee has approximately fifty (50) members comprising members from a wide range of the legal fraternity.
The Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month save for August and December.
